SAN ANTONIO — After more than a decade of volunteering at HEB's Feast of Sharing, Jerry Reed said he and his family still enjoy participating.

"This is something we have been doing for 14 years,” Reed said. “My bride and I just love to do this. We've gotten our children involved in this and now it's an annual event for them as well."

Reed is one of an estimated 25,000 volunteers preparing meals to feed 15,000 people. This is the 25th year HEB has provided the public a seat at its tables.

"The volunteers get to interact with the customers and vice versa," Julie Bedingfield, with HEB said. “There is just joy in everyone's face whether they are serving the ham or eating the ham."

This year’s menu includes glazed ham, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, a dinner roll and dessert.
