CHARLOTTE -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect in the murder of a 7-Eleven employee.

Investigators have released the picture below of the man the believe to be responsible for the murder of 55-year-old Khaled Elmerkabaoui on Dec. 9.

Police say the surveillance camera footage seems to show Elmerkabaoui complying with all the robbers demands.

"You have a guy who's, what was his crime, showing up to work that day at that convenience store that night and gunned down senselessly," said CMPD spokesperson Rob Tufano. "It's really concerning when someone doesn't offer up any kind of resistance and finds himself in a position like this, we've gotta get this person."

Anyone with information leading to an arrest in this case is eligible for a $5,000.00 reward from Crime Stoppers.  Today 7-Eleven announced that they are also contributing an extra $10,000.00 reward to anyone with information leading to an arrest in this case.
