SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse University hosts hundreds of families from Fort Drum for Veterans Day.

A tailgate party was held before kick-off of the Syracuse vs. Wake Forest game, as part of the annual Military Appreciation Day.

There were family activities, food, drinks and lots of thanks going around. 

Modesto “Mike” Chemotti from the class of 1938, is one of SU’s oldest living World War II veterans, at a 103 years old.

He received an honorary jersey with his old football number from the University's Vice Chancellor.
