There's a new resource in East Harlem for displaced hurricane victims from across the nation.

The Hurricane Service Center is located inside the Julia Du Burgos Latino Cultural Center on Lexington Avenue between 105th and 106th streets.

It's assisting hurricane victims from Florida, Puerto Rico, Texas, and the U.S. Virgin Islands living in the city either for the short-term or long-term.

City agencies are helping people with health insurance, school enrollment, food assistance and mental health counseling.

The center is open every day of the week and the city says its doors will be open as long as there's a need.
