NEW YORK - Vandals targeted a pair of statues in Lower Manhattan Thursday morning.
Police say someone threw paint on the head of the iconic Charging Bull around 6 a.m.
They say it was cleaned up shortly after.
On Facebook, the group Draw the Blue Line claims it was performance vandalism, and the paint was made out of corn oil and industrial chalk.
Police say they also targeted the Fearless Girl statue, adorning her in a sash that said “Draw the Blue Line.”
The group says the defacing was in response to the Trump administration pulling out of the Paris climate accord.
Supporters of the agreement are being encouraged to show their stance during the UN General Assembly.
