Astoria residents now have a new way to get to Manhattan.

NYC Ferry rolled out its latest route at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Boats leave Astoria every 25 minutes and stop at a new dock on Roosevelt Island before connecting to existing stops at Long Island City and East 34th Street.

The line ends at Pier 11 in Lower Manhattan.

While greeting riders at the Midtown East landing, Mayor Bill de Blasio touted the success of the ferry service.

He says it has gone above and beyond expecations since starting in May.

"People have been coming in droves. We now have almost had almost had a million and a half rides so far. And we've got a couple more lines we're going to be opening up next year, so it's going to keep growing," de Blasio said. "But what I'm seeing so far is, you know, once people experience it, they like it a lot better than driving or taking a subway. And I think you're going to see this ridership just continue to increase."

Two more routes, with service to and from the Lower East Side and the Soundview section of the Bronx, are expected to launch next summer.
