Saturday was a "pawfectly" good day for people to stroll through the city — and possibly take home a furry new friend at this year's Broadway Barks.

The 19th annual adoption at Shubert Alley in Manhattan featured Broadway performers trying to find homes for hundreds of cats and dogs.

Bernadette Peters and the late Mary Tyler Moore co-created the event.

"It's so interesting because when we invite people, and if somebody's new to Broadway, they go, 'Oh my God, I've been waiting to get on Broadway so I can go to Broadway Barks!'" Peters said at the adoption.

"I was thrilled, and I'm very happy to do it because any support we can give to the animals, I'm happy to do," Malcolm McDowell said.
