The search is on for a hit-and-run driver police say killed a man in Brooklyn over the weekend.

The incident was caught on surveillance video.

Police say a white BMW SUV can be seen signaling and making a right turn onto West 10th Street from Avenue T in Gravesend as a skateboarder moves into the crosswalk and goes right into the SUV.

The SUV then runs over him and keeps going.

It happened just after 3 p.m. Sunday.

The 18-year-old victim was taken to the hospital, where he died.

His family has started a Go Fund Me page to help pay for his funeral expenses.

NY1 talked with a neighbor who has also been a victim of a hit and run driver.

"Just come through and you know give yourself up and it's not a good feeling to have that in the back of your mind knowing that you hit somebody and just keep walking and not you know helping the family out, you know give yourself up because they'll find you, they'll arrest you and you'll be locked up. It's good to come through," said the neighbor.

Police say they have recovered the vehicle involved but no one is in custody yet.
