A federal agency is now investigating two construction companies after a roof collapse injured several workers in Queens.

It happened Tuesday afternoon at a two-story home under construction on 28th Road in Astoria.

Officials say the roof came crashing down after a heavy load of building materials was placed on it.

Two workers were critically hurt after being trapped, and a third suffered serious injuries.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is now looking into Ideal Builders and Construction Services, and CDW Carpentry.

Both businesses have been investigated by OSHA within the past two years.
