A man has been sentenced to 13 years behind bars for attacking his wife with a meat cleaver.
The Manhattan DA's office says 32-year-old Ming Huang dragged his then 23-year-old wife from her job onto the street in Chinatown back in February of 2013.
Prosecutors say the fight escalated, and Huang stabbed her with the meat cleaver multiple times.
Two firefighters nearby intervened and pinned him down until police arrived.
The victim suffered several deep gashes that required surgery after two of them penetrated her skull and pierced her brain.
Huang pleaded guilty to assault last month.
