NEW YORK - Police have identified the man who fell to his death from a Manhattan high-rise Thursday afternoon.

Bruno Travalja, the owner of an glass installation company, fell 47 stories from a building located at 135 West 52nd Street.

Department of Buildings officials say Travalja was on the deck on the 47th floor surveying a construction project when he approached a ledge and tried to stop materials from falling below. That's when they say Travalja stood up, lost footing and fell.

DOB says Travalja was wearing a harness that was not tied to anything when he knelt near the ledge.

The New Jersey man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The NYPD and the Department of Buildings are investigating the fall.
