If your phone runs out of juice while you're using the Staten Island Ferry, that may not be a problem soon.

The Department of Transportation says new USB charging ports are expected to be installed at the St. George and Whitehall terminals this fall.

They will also be placed onboard new vessels set to go into action in 2019.

This comes after the DOT says fights had broken out between passengers over the use of a limited number of electrical outlets.

Electrical power to the outlets was recently cut in order to prevent conflicts between riders.
