Police say a domestic dispute led to the deadly shooting of a woman inside Brooklyn Bridge Park on Monday night.

Officers found Michelle Marks, 23, of Brooklyn on the sidewalk near Furman and Joralemon Streets in Brooklyn Heights around 9:30 p.m.

She had been shot in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.

They say Marks was leaving work at the time.

The killing has raised concern in an area that residents say is pretty safe.

"You wouldn't expect it. Everybody's out here jogging. Everybody brings their kids here everyday. It's become a very safe place. You wouldn't expect to see that," said one park goer.

"It's terrible. It's not what this park is all about. This is not the community. There was a similar death in Red Hook just a couple weeks ago and just to hear that it's so close to home - I live in that building - is pretty disturbing to be honest," said another passerby.

The victim lived in Crown Heights.

The motive for the shooting is unclear, and there have been no arrests.
