Attorneys for former NYPD officer Peter Liang are calling for a retrial following his manslaughter conviction in the killing of Akai Gurley.

Liang's lawyers are citing juror misconduct in their retrial request.

They say one of the jurors in the original trial gave a "false answer" when he said he did not have a close family member who was accused of a crime.

That juror's father had actually served prison time for shooting a friend.

The Brooklyn district attorney's office says Liang got a fair trial and that it will respond to the request in court.

Liang faces up to 15 years in prison when he is sentenced next week.

But the Brooklyn DA has recommended probation and community service instead of jail time.
