Yellow roses adorn the 9/11 Memorial site on Wednesday honoring Veterans Day.

The flowers are placed on the monument where the names of military personnel killed in the attacks are inscribed.

The flowers were organized by the veterans group, Team Red, White and Blue.

Attendees say honoring those lost at the World Trade Center is very emotional.

"I lost a good friend of mine here so it's pretty tough," one visitor said. "But I'm glad they did that and it's very honorable."

"I think any gratitude towards them from anybody is something that should be recognized and it's an amazing thing," said another.

"I just think it's a really great thing and it's a good thing to be here today as well just to be here to see this. It's a proud moment," a third person said.

More than 275 military veterans died during the attacks.
