More bad news for the three area airports - a new study says they are the worst when it comes to tarmac delays.

A report by the Global Gateway Alliance found that nearly 6,800 flights last year at Kennedy, LaGuardia, and Newark were delayed on the tarmac for more than an hour.

The group says the delays affected about 600,000 passengers in all.

The report also ranked LaGuardia worst for tarmac delays between 60 minutes and five hours.

The Alliance says delays could be eased if the airports replaced their old radar systems with modern satellite technology.
