Yet another round of snow is expected to cause a sluggish commute in and around the city.

A winter storm warning is in effect for Brooklyn and Staten Island, while a winter storm watch is in effect for Manhattan and the Bronx until 7 p.m. Thursday.

Accumulations of three to four inches of snow possible.

Temperatures will be in the 20s, meaning New Yorkers should be prepared for icy roads and sidewalks.

Pets are also vulnerable this time of year.

Veterinarians say they're seeing more dogs suffer from salt problems when they lick the salt off the street or off their paws.

"This year, particularly, we're seeing a lot of dogs coming in, licking their paws, limping, and we're seeing irritation on their skin, cracked skin, red skin from just walking on the newly salted grounds and the pavement," said Dr. Hyla Gayer, a veterinarian.

To help, you can protect your pet's paws or wash them as soon as you get home.
