As a mother of two, Susie Jaramillo was looking to introduce her kids to music and stories that incorporated Hispanic culture. When she couldn’t find it, she decided to create it. Along with a co-founder, Encantos, was born.

The company creates bilingual learning apps, games and books for kids, and was named one of the world’s most innovative companies by Fast Company magazine.

Jaramillo joined “News All Day” for Women Wednesday to share more about her journey.

She says 26% of kids under ten are Latino but only 5% of kids media represents them.

While the content is in Spanish and English, it is designed for a global audience. Jaramillo’s app, Canticos, was recently named “App of the Day” in Apple’s app store.

Her advice for other women looking to succeed is to don’t ask for permission and make the time for the things you think you should be doing.
