Political newspaper City & State New York named its “50 over 50” Tuesday night with award recipients gathering at a ceremony in Manhattan.

The paper’s editor said the list’s purpose is to honor “leaders who have amassed a long list of accomplishments over the course of their entire careers.”

Among those honored was S. David Wu, who was also featured on the cover of the newspaper Wednesday morning.

Wu has been president of Baruch College since 2020, and is the first Asian-American to lead a college in the CUNY system.

Prior to that, he worked at Lehigh University as both a professor and dean. He also worked in the private sector as a systems engineer.

Throughout a lengthy career in academia, he was especially honored for his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic at Baruch College, and his priority to increase accessibility to all students in a post-pandemic world.

He spoke about that and more with Pat Kiernan Wednesday morning during an appearance on “Mornings On 1.”
