The national movement against sexual harassment in the workplace reaches City Hall.

Bronx Councilman Andy King was disciplined Monday for making inappropriate comments to a council staffer.

A council committee is requiring King to take sensitivity and ethics training.

The lawmaker was accused of telling the staffer to smile more while grabbing her hand.

He also invited her to a benefit event in his district and told her to wear a nice gown.

Privately, he denied any wrongdoing to the committee, but has agreed to the training.

"Councilmember King violated the council's anti-harassment and discrimination policy," said Staten Island Republican Councilman Steven Matteo. "The committee voted in favor of requiring Councilmember King to complete sensitivity training within 30 days of approval of the training program by the chair and complete ethics training within the council's office of the general council within 30 days of the imposition of this sanction by the City Council."

We do not know how long the training will take, or what the content will be.

King has not returned multiple requests for comment.
