National Grid is launching a new clean energy plan aimed at eliminating fossil fuels from its gas networks by 2050. In order to achieve this goal, the utility giant will expand the use of electric heat pumps and will source more renewable natural gas. A big part of the ambitious strategy is to focus on helping customers either convert or adapt their current heating systems to more sustainable options.

The president of National Grid’s New York business, Rudy Wynter, joined Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Tuesday to discuss the transition.
