Homelessness is top of mind for many New Yorkers right now, including Mayor Eric Adams. On “Inside City Hall” Wednesday, Errol Louis turned to two longtime homelessness and mental health advocates for their perspective on the solutions the city should explore to help get people off the street and help them get the care they need.

Amy Dorin, the president and CEO of the Coalition for Behavioral Health, and Joe DeGenova, president and CEO at Center for Urban Community Services, talked about the dearth of psychiatric beds, the need to expand existing mental health programs, and why ensuring proper housing is available is a key to solving the crisis.
