Top Democrats from across New York are gathering at the annual “Somos el Futuro” conference in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The annual event is where a who's who of our state's political world make deals, set the legislative agenda and more.

One of those elected officials, City Council Member Carlina Rivera, joined anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” on Friday to talk about the significance of the conference, especially when it comes to Latino political representation.

Rivera represents parts of Manhattan, including the Lower East Side up to Murray Hill, and she's also in the running to be the next City Council speaker.
