NEW YORK — With the Democratic primary less than seven months away, several candidates have launched campaigns to succeed Scott Stringer as the city's next comptroller, including Brooklyn Councilman Brad Lander.

Lander joined anchor Errol Louis on Inside City Hall to talk about his campaign and how he plans to turn around the city’s dire fiscal situation in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

He discussed his priorities to get the budget crisis under control, including audits of the NYPD and a look at city settlements. And he voiced his support to close Rikers Island.
