RALEIGH-- It's that time of year where they're plentiful and ripe for the picking, and on July 31, we celebrate all things we can make with the superfood on National Avocado Day. Whether you like to eat them out of the shell, dice them on your salad, or make a great dip, avocados are quickly becoming a staple in American households.

According to the Hass Avocado Board, avocado consumption in the United States doubled from 2005 to 2015, with more than 4.25 billion avocados sold in the U.S. that year. We sat down with a franchisee owner of Moe's Southwest Grill for a look at how avocados are used in their business and a tasty recipe for their popular guacamole!

Moe's in the Triangle is offering free guacamole in honor of National Avocado Day on Monday. For more recipes using avocados, click here
