Kids at more than 300 city schools are sharpening their computer science skills this week.

Students are taking part in daily, hour-long coding classes and other events as part of Computer Science Education Week.

The celebration coincides with the mayor's larger project, Computer Science for All, that was launched last year.

Its goal is to provide computer science education in all city public schools by the year 2025.

Students we spoke with say learning about tech is hard work, but they're enjoying it.

"It makes you think and it helps you problem solve and you're doing computer science but you're having fun at the same time," said one student.

More than 450 public school teachers are being trained to bring computer science in their classrooms this school year. So far, more than 20 million dollars has been raised for the initiative.
