Israeli World Drumming Troupe TARARAM
Israel’s answer to the Blue Man Group, “TARARAM,” makes an appearance in the city with a free outdoor concert on Sunday at 4 p.m. Tap, acrobatics, sound and light will produce a sensory experience that is both thrilling and educational.

Shakespeare in the Parking Lot
It’s Shakespeare in the Parking Lot. See one of the Bard’s most popular works, “The Merchant of Venice,” now through August 13th. It’s free.   

Hip Hop Film Festival NYC
CR Capers and Ralph McDaniels present the first annual Hip Hop Film Festival at the National Black Theater on 5th Avenue in Harlem. This four day festival continues tonight through Saturday. Event passes start at around 40 dollars.

New York Studio School
The Annual Alumni Exhibition returns to the New York Studio School near Washington Square Park. Take a look at sixty pieces of artwork collected at this free exhibit through August 21st. 

International Center of Photography
Pay a visit to the International Center of Photography at its new location in the Bowery. Their current exhibit: “Public, Private, Secret.

The Hubble Cantata
Music meets virtual reality when VisionIntoArt and Beth Morrison Projects present The Hubble Cantata, the first multidimensional view into space in VR, in free outdoor concert, BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival at Prospect Park on August 6th. 

Rooftop Films at The Queens County Farm Museum 
On Thursday, August 4th Rooftop Films will head to The Queens County Farm Museum, NYC’s largest remaining tract of farmland, for a special screening of Jesse Moss’ documentary, The Bandit. Starting with live music at 8:30, followed by the film screening at 9:00PM.

Roberto Roena at Lehman Center
If you can’t resist Latin music, you can’t miss this one night only concert! The Lehman Center for the Performing Arts presents an exclusive concert celebrating Roberto Roena’s historic 45 years of Latin Fusion Apollo Sound that will also feature his original singers Tito Cruz, Papo Sánchez, etc. on Saturday, August 6th at 8 p.m.

Saturday night, check out Inside Outside -- a group exhibition exploring the work of 7 local artists inside museums while embracing a practice of street art. And bring your phone -- the flash of the viewers’ cameras will cause the materials to illuminate.
