Shoes and Baggage at The Cell
Let's kick things off in style. Cheryl Stern presents the one-woman show "Shoes and Baggage,"
a new musical comedy about how a shopaholic survives the big city. It's at The Cell in Chelsea. Tickets are $35.

Aerial Championships at Baruch
Spin over to Baruch Performing Arts Center in Kips Bay for the second annual Aerial Championships Friday through Sunday. See some of the world’s best aerialists compete in front of judges from Cirque du Soliel and other top shows. Tickets are $60 per day.

Nataal New African Photography at Red Hook Labs
At Red Hook Labs in Brooklyn, check out New African Photography. This show features contemporary African photographers as they explore the continent's culture.

Broadway Sings Whitney Houston
Sunday night, spend the evening with some Broadway stars as they pay tribute to the music of Whitney Houston. "Broadway Sings Whitney Houston" is at the High Line Ballroom in Chelsea. Tickets start at $20.

Cocoadios at The House of Yes
At the House of Yes in Bushwick, a new immersive theatrical experience about life, death and chocolate. Audience members join in as the cast of Cocoadios pays homage to the Mayan gods of blood and chocolate through dance, aerial stunts and cocoa. Tickets start at $22.

Katra Film Series at Ace Hotel
Film buffs, check out the monthly Katra Film Series Saturday night at KATRA Lounge in the Bowery Hotel. Katra is a competitive international short film festival for emerging filmmakers. Tickets are $15 in advance. 

Flux Art Fair
The outdoor Flux Art Fair continues in and around Marcus Garvey Park in Harlem. Check out this piece by Mira Gandy, who used 1,916 braids to wrap this pole. It celebrates Afrocentric beauty and the year Garvey settled in Harlem - 1916.

Miles and Trane Festival
The horns will also be blowing at the Miles and Trane Festival, taking place May 12th through the 15th at Lincoln Center. The biggest cats in jazz will be there to perform in honor of Miles Davis and John Coltrane’s 90th birthday. Tickets start at $20 with a special student discount.

Movies Under The Stars
The City's “Movies Under The Stars” is expanding! Check out free outdoor films in city parks in all five boroughs. This year you can see as many as 300 movies! Check out the website for the schedule and locations.
