Police in Brooklyn are looking for a hit-and-run driver after a car accident that killed an Orthodox Jewish couple expecting their first child early Sunday morning. NY1's Jon Weinstein filed the following report.

Twenty-one-year-old married couple Nachman and Raizi Glauber were preparing to welcome their first child.

Family members said they were heading to Long Island College Hospital early Sunday morning because she wasn't feeling well when the livery cab they were in collided with a BMW.

"Not even married a year. You're going in for the happiest time, to have a baby, and that's what happens," said Barry Sekete, a cousin. "Terrible."

Nachman and Raizi Glauber were both killed, but their baby was delivered prematurely at Bellevue Hospital and survived.

Family and community leaders said they will come together to care for the child.

"This baby will be well taken care of," said Isaac Abraham, a spokesperson for the Orthodox community. "It's a large family and community. This baby, unfortunately, will have to grow up and, at a later date, find out that it has no parents."

The driver of the livery cab was taken to Bellevue as well.

Police say the driver and a passenger in the BMW both ran off.

A community group is offering a $1,000 reward for help finding the driver who fled. They also have a simple message for the driver.

"Give yourself up before we find you," Abraham said. "We know law enforcement is going to get to you, but our message is, give yourself up before we find you."

Hundreds gathered in Williamsburg for the husband and wife's funeral Sunday as friends and family tried to come to grips with how this happened.

"We just lost a beautiful couple," said Miriam Stern, a family friend. "Two wonderful people, always with a smile on their face, always trying to help. They're just a lovely, lovely couple, and they're truly going to be missed be everyone."

Family members said that Nachman Glauber's mom had a baby herself only two weeks ago. They said he called her every day.

"Making sure she's OK and she's taking care of herself," said Sarah Gluck, a cousin. "He's just a very good boy."

Now, the Glauber family is left to mourn two lives taken way too soon.
