Defense attorneys for a man convicted of killing two detectives on Staten Island may ask for a change of venue for his sentencing.

At a Brooklyn federal court hearing for Ronell Wilson, the defense said too many people in the area know about his case and the recent media coverage surrounding him.

Wilson faces either life in prison or the death penalty for killing NYPD Detectives Rodney Andrews and James Nemorin in 2003.

For now, the defense team said it will wait to see how jury selection plays out.

The officers' families and their sympathizers say Wilson deserves no leniency.

"We lost two detectives, two good men, two family men, and we want to seek closure as well," said Michael Palladino of the Detectives' Endowment Association. "I'm not just satisfied with a conviction, as much as I would be satisfied with the penalty of death."

Wilson has been in the media spotlight over recent allegations that federal Correctional Officer Nancy Gonzalez allegedly had sex with him while he was behind bars.

Gonzalez has been charged with unlawful sexual abuse.

She is now pregnant, and sources say Wilson is the father.
