The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York and Staten Island's regional board for parochial schools announced Monday that two more Catholic elementary schools on Staten Island are closing in June.

St. Joseph School at 139 St. Mary Avenue in Rosebank and Immaculate Conception School at 104 Gordon Street in Stapleton were officially deemed "at risk" of closing last month, and the archdiocese said they had low enrollment.

Regional board members said they spoke with local principals, school administrators, pastors and elected officials before reaching their decision.

Counselors will work to place students from the two closing schools in neighboring Catholic schools.

Another 14 Catholic schools are closing in Manhattan, Queens and the Bronx.

The five elementary schools closing in Manhattan are Annunciation, Holy Cross, Holy Name of Jesus, St. James-St. Joseph and St. Jude.

St. Agnes Boys' High School in Manhattan is also closing.

The Queens school that is closing is St. Fidelis School in College Point.

The Bronx is losing seven elementary schools: Holy Spirit, Our Lady of Angels, Our Lady of Mercy, St. Jerome, Blessed Sacrament, St. Anthony and St. Mary Star of the Sea.
