NY1's weekly segment "Your Weekend Starts Now" shows entertaining picks for great things to do this weekend all around the city. NY1 Arts reporter Stephanie Simon filed the following report.


"Shoe Obsession"

At the new "Shoe Obsession" exhibit, delight in more than 100 pairs of designer shoes, including Christian Louboutin and Manolo Blahniks.


"We've all been obsessed with shoes forever, since Cinderella," says Valerie Steele, director of the Museum at FIT. "But this exhibit looks at not just why we're obsessed with shoes, but why our obsession has become so intense over the last 12 years,"


The reasons? Everything from Sex and the City to celebrity designers to the economy.

Kick up your heels for "A Chorus Line." The classic musical within a musical is at The Lehman Center in the Bronx on Saturday night. Tickets start at $25.


Open House Weekend at the Apollo Theater

Celebrate Black History Month at the Apollo Theater. It’s holding a free open house all weekend, including a screening of the new documentary "Voices of Love: Whitney Houston and Her Family" on Sunday at 1 p.m.
