An anonymous donor made a generous donation to a group of exceptional high school students in the Bronx.

Twenty-five students at Fordham High School for the Arts were inducted into the National Honor Society in November for high grades and good standing with the school.

On Wednesday, a guidance counselor at the school opened her mailbox to find a letter congratulating the students for their achievement.

Included were 25 Barnes and Noble gift cards, each worth $25.

"It's really exciting because someone generously donated money. That's a lot of money, 25 $25 gift cards, and it shows the kids that people do appreciate when you work hard," said Kirsten Foster, a student.

Students and staff wish to thank the anonymous donor, who apparently learned of the students' achievement by finding a program for the induction ceremony.

The letter was signed, "A Fan."
