Sir Richard Rodney Bennett, Oscar-Nominated Composer And Pianist, Dead At 76

Oscar-nominated British composer and pianist Sir Richard Rodney Bennett has died.


Bennett was nominated three times for an Academy Award for his music, which included his score for the movie "Murder on the Orient Express'' in 1974.


His publisher says Bennett died in the city on Christmas Eve following a brief illness.


Sir Richard Rodney Bennett was 76 years old.
