Disney World will provide travelers with new experiences for the new year, including an upgraded Test Track. NY1's Valarie D'Elia filed the following report.
At Disney World, some experiences for the New Year will let you go at your own pace.
Visitors can get up to speed at Epcot’s Test Track attraction, which just received a high octane upgrade.
"We've completely reimagined this whole thing and now, as you enter the pavilion, we're putting you in the role as an automotive designer," said Alex Grayman, a Disney Imagineer. "In order to accomplish that, what had previously been a warehouse, mechanic-type shop, aesthetic, now everything is kind of sleek and smooth and kind of futuristic and exciting."
Passengers compete against one another in a ride that reaches 65 miles per hour after a four-minute test drive.
From the fast lane to the bowling lanes. At Downtown Disney, Splitsville reinvents the traditional bowling alley with 30 lanes, amid entertainment and upscale food that you could call lane cuisine.
To spare your family the expense of staying at the Disney Deluxe Resort Hotels, check out the newest in the value category: Art of Animation, which is like sleeping inside animated movies such as Cars, Finding Nemo and The Lion King. Family suites sleep six, including two bathrooms and a kitchenette, and start at about $248 per night. Standard rooms that sleep four are part of The Little Mermaid Wing and start at $94 per night.
In 2013, Disney also lays on a little extra magic with unexpected weekly surprises that appear and disappear in a flash.
