Commemorations Being Held Across Globe For World AIDS Day

Commemorations are being held across the globe Saturday in honor of World AIDS Day.
A red ribbon and parts of the AIDS Memorial Quilt are hanging at the White House.
President Barack Obama says the U.S. remains committed to fighting the disease, and health officials say progress is being made.
It's estimated that 50,000 Americans are infected with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, every year.
In New York City, students and teachers at Brooklyn's Edward R. Murrow High School made their own AIDS quilt.
The school gets panels from around the world. Each one represents someone who died of HIV or AIDS.
The Gay Men's Health Crisis is offering free HIV testing to the general public at several locations in Manhattan Saturday.
