Updated: 10/29/2012 05:39 AM
By: Mike Gilliam

NY1 VIDEO: On October 29, 1992, tensions once again rose in Crown Heights after a man accused of stabbing a Hasidic Jew during the Crown Heights riots was acquitted of criminal charges. As we take a look back at 20 years of NY1, the station revisits Mike Gilliam's piece on the protests that followed the verdict.

NY1 FOLLOW-UP: Following a separate trial, Nelson would be convicted of violating Rosenbaum's civil rights, though that verdict would later be overturned. Nelson was ultimately re-tried and convicted again, but because of time served he was released from prison a year later.
