Queens Principal Steps Down Amid Sexual Harassment Charges

A principal at a Queens high school has stepped down amid allegations of sexual harassment and other offensive behavior.
The Department of Education says Nancy Casella resigned from Information Technology High School in Long Island City on October 9.
Officials launched four separate investigations after complaints were filed by several people on her staff.
They claimed Casella made derogatory remarks against Jews, blacks and gays and used sexually explicit language during a 2010 meeting.
She was also accused of inappropriately touching one of her assistants and referring to him as her "work husband."
Investigators say Casella also tampered with parent surveys in an effort to boost her school's ratings.
Records show she earned more than $100,000 a year as principal.
