Police continue to search for a man wanted in connection with a stabbing inside a Chelsea subway station.
Officials believe the suspect stabbed another man multiple times at the 14th Street and Seventh Avenue station Saturday evening.
Sources say the victim and his attacker argued on the subway station stairs before the attack but did not know each other.
"There's been a lot of incidents in the subways lately and you just gotta be careful, I guess," said one resident.
"It's not right that something like that happens," said another. "Stuff like this happens all over and it's every single day. It's not just here. It's everywhere."
The attacker is described as between the ages of 40 and 50. He is described as about 5 feet 8 inches tall and was wearing a light blue striped shirt and dark pants.
The victim is expected to recover.
Police say the stabbing is not connected to Sunday morning's fatal stabbing in Chelsea.
