The MTA announced Tuesday scheduled dates for public hearings on its plan to raise fares.
Hearings will begin on Wednesday, Nov. 7 on Long Island and Brooklyn and end on Thursday, Nov. 15 in Westchester and Queens.
All meetings begin at 5 p.m.
While details of the fare hike proposal are expected to be announced in mid-October, one possibility is the loss of the 7 percent discount on the pay-per-ride MetroCard.
Another possibility is that the base fare could jump from $2.25 to $2.50.
The board is expected to vote on the proposed fare hike in December, with the new fares going into effect in March.
The MTA is counting on a fare hike to help close its budget gap.
