Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney took some time off the campaign trail Tuesday to salute the military.
Addressing the National Guard in Reno, Romney said the Sept. 11 attacks are still seared into the minds of all Americans.
"On this 11th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001, we remember the victims who perished in the attacks," Romney said. "We also remember the men and women serving in dangerous places around the world. We will not forget why they are fighting or who they are fighting for. They're faithful to us and to our country. We must not break faith with them."
Romney and President Barack Obama agreed to suspend all advertising in honor of the anniversary of the attacks.
The Republican did take a moment to do a little campaigning when he warned against "hollowing out our military" with deep defense budget cuts.
