Legendary songwriter and Brooklyn native Hal David has died at age 91.

David's wife says he died yesterday of complications from a stroke in Los Angeles.

David wrote dozens of hit songs with longtime collaborator Burt Bacharach, including "I Say A Little Prayer" and "What The World Needs Now Is Love."

One of their most successful songs, "Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head," was featured in the 1969 movie "Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid" and won David and Bacharach an Academy Award.
