The New York City Police Department is talking to a suspect who allegedly threatened a New York shooting massacre over Twitter.

Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said the investigation into the threatening tweets continues.

Someone used the social networking service to threaten a shooting at the Long Acre Theater in Midtown similar to the one in Aurora, Colorado.

"We have identified that person and we are shortly going to be interviewing that person," Kelly said. "That person is not in New York City. Of course, there's always the possibility of someone else using someone's account."

Twitter agreed to comply with an NYPD subpoena for information on the person behind the tweets after originally refusing to identify the user.
