On last night’s program, “Inside City Hall”’s Errol Louis asked Transport Workers Union Local 100 President John Samuelsen about his impressions of MTA Chairman Joe Lhota.

Danny Hakim reports: “Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo, leading a high-profile investigation into the State Police when he was attorney general, angered top officials at the agency by discouraging them from obtaining legal representation during the inquiry, according to interviews with former officials and claims made in documents recently obtained by The New York Times.”

Hakim also notes: “Aides to New York’s first African-American governor wanted a police entourage that looked more like their boss, so they made an unusual request to the State Police: Replace at least 10 white troopers assigned to protect Gov. David A. Paterson with black or Latino officers.”

The Times also writes: “Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg announced on Monday that Marc La Vorgna would take over as press secretary next month when Stu Loeser leaves that position.”

Geoff Earle writes: “President Obama swooped into New York yesterday and walked away with more than $2 million in campaign cash from Wall Street honchos.”

David Seifman reports: “The city’s stalled bike-sharing program is asking for financial help even before it begins, The Post has learned. Alta, the company that was supposed to have put 10,000 bicycles on the street starting today, has asked the lead sponsor to accelerate payments of $3.5 million in case the program is delayed until next spring and runs out of cash, sources said.”

Seifman also notes: “Mayor Bloomberg rejected a proposal yesterday to add $50 million to community groups in neighborhoods beset by gun violence.”

And Seifman writes: “The signature of a woman who died two years ago has turned up on nominating petitions of state Sen. David Storobin (R-Brooklyn), who is seeking re-election.”

The News reports: “Gov. Cuomo Tuesday plans to veto a controversial special education bill that critics charged would have made it easier for parents to send their children to private or religious schools at taxpayer expense, a source confirmed Monday.”
