Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama says America need a new stimulus package to jump-start the economy.
Speaking to reporters Saturday, he said there is "little doubt" the United States is in a recession.
He said the country needs a second stimulus plan, a new long-term energy policy, and federal action to fix the depressed housing market.
Obama also announced that on his upcoming trip to Iraq and Afghanistan he'll travel with two Senators, Democrat Jack Reed and Republican Chuck Hagel, who has been an outspoken critic of the Iraq War.
Obama addressed the American Federation of Teachers Convention via satellite Sunday morning.
He then spoke before the National Council of La Raza, one of the country's largest Hispanic civil rights groups.
Presumptive GOP nominee John McCain took the weekend off. He's expected to campaign in Michigan Monday.
