The results are in for the June 3rd City Council special election in Queens.

After a recount, the Board of Elections certified a narrow 41-vote victory for Republican Anthony Como over Democrat Elizabeth Crowley.

Como will fill the seat vacated by fellow Republican Dennis Gallagher, who resigned in April as part of a plea deal on misdemeanor sex abuse charges.

Como, a former prosecutor in the borough, claimed victory immediately after the vote, even though the BOE was still counting paper ballots. His constituency includes Middle Village, Glendale, Richmond Hill, Woodhaven, Forest Hills and Ridgewood.
