Handicapped beach-goers will have an easier time making it through sand this summer.

Starting in June, the city is testing out a pilot program that provides portable mats and flooring to make it easier those using walkers and wheelchairs to get from the boardwalk to the Atlantic.

Rockaway Beach will see a "mobi-mat" by June 3rd, and Brighton Beach will get it one a week later.
