A timetable is set to begin work on the new Moynihan Station in Manhattan.
Private developers and state officials signed off on a multi-million dollar deal to convert the James Farley Post Office on Eighth Avenue into a new transit hub. It would serve as an extension to Penn Station.
Charles Gargano, the Chairman of the Empire State Development Corporation says construction on the $850-million project will begin this fall.
It's expected to be open for business by 2012.
Gargano says the deal does not cover a controversial proposal to move Madison Square Garden into the west wing of the Farley complex.
