City Looking To Return $13 Million In Unclaimed Bail, Court Funds

The city's Department of Finance says it's waiting for 584 people to come forward to claim their share of $$13 million collected as a result of either court proceedings or bail actions.

Officials say they sent out letters to everyone, but they were returned with no forwarding address.

For a complete list of those who have a right to the unclaimed money, log on to www.nyc.gov/finance.

New Yorkers on the list are asked to call 311. The deadline to claim any funds is March 31. After that, all unclaimed money will be returned to the state comptroller's office.
