While the man being sought in connection to Sunday's deadly hit-and-run accident in Brooklyn plans to turn himself in, according to Police Commissioner Ray Kelly, authorities are still actively searching for him.
Police believe Julio Acevedo, 44, was driving Takia Walker's BMW when he slammed into a livery cab in Williamsburg.
Nachman Glauber and his pregnant wife Raizy were taking that cab to the hospital because she wasn't feeling well.
Both later died and their baby boy was delivered soon after but died Monday morning.The livery cab driver suffered only minor injuries.
Acevedo has contacted a lawyer and plans to turn himself in, according to a friend.
The NYPD says Acevedo was arrested for drunk driving just last month and has also served prison time for manslaughter and drug possession.
Meanwhile, prosecutors are no longer pursuing charges against Walker.
The Bronx district attorney's office says it is deferring prosecution against Takia Walker until it can investigate further.
Police charged Walker with insurance fraud, saying she acquired the car under false pretenses, then let someone else who was not on the insurance drive it.
